Comprehensive Policy for Inclusive Care and Accessibility

Expanding Access to Essential Services
I will work to eliminate the geographic and financial barriers that prevent people from receiving mental health and disability services. This includes increasing funding for community-based clinics, expanding telehealth reimbursement to reach rural areas, and streamlining the application process for state-funded supports to ensure that care is delivered when it is needed most, rather than after a crisis occurs.

Integrating the Care Ecosystem
Support is most effective when it is coordinated. I will advocate for the implementation of integrated communication frameworks that bridge the gap between healthcare providers, families, schools, and community organizations. By promoting shared goals and seamless information exchange—while maintaining strict privacy standards—we can ensure that individuals do not fall through the cracks during transitions between school and adulthood or between different care providers.

Empowering Caregivers and Families
Caregivers are the backbone of our health system but are often left without support. I will propose policies that provide direct relief to families, including expanded respite care options, caregiver tax credits, and accessible training programs. My goal is to ensure that those who dedicate their lives to supporting others have the mental, emotional, and financial resources necessary to sustain their own well-being.

Building Truly Inclusive Communities
Accessibility is a civil right, not a luxury. I will push for stricter enforcement of accessibility standards in public infrastructure and the incentivization of "universal design" in new developments. Beyond physical ramps and elevators, I will promote initiatives that foster social inclusion and employment opportunities for people with disabilities, ensuring that every citizen can participate fully in the economic and social life of our state.

Centering Lived Experience in Legislation
Policy is often written by those who have never navigated the systems they regulate. I will establish formal advisory councils composed of individuals with lived experience in disability and mental health to review and inform all relevant legislation. By shifting from a "top-down" approach to one informed by real-life challenges, we will create laws that are practical, empathetic, and genuinely effective.
